Inspiration:
This is a painting of HMS Endurance under the command of Sir Ernest Shackleton which became trapped in the Antarctic ice in 1912. Their survival story is one of the greatest ever told.
The text of a sailing song, "Leave her, Johnny" appears below the ship. The song is a bittersweet "goodbye" to a ship which bore its grudging crew safely back home.
